There once was a dog named Buddy
Whose feet were too oft' muddy
He would go to the yard and scare off a bird
What a dog, what a friend, what a nerd
On a warm autumn day, he soaks up the sun
And dreams of the chipmunks that he has made run
With the leaves piled high all over the place
He flops in their midst and stares into space
His hair is short and his coat is thin
So he lies in the leaves and props on his chin
I don't know where my life would be
Without my friend, my dog, my bud-dy
