Jax Beach

At end of summer when school is just starting back, when the heat of August has at last abated, it is a good time to go the beach. Our choice this year came for Jacksonville Beach, FL to be with our three little grandsons in an oceanside condo in the heart of the beach. Angela and John took a flight to LA and we became the guardians of  precious cargo for a four day weekend. The weather was perfect, temps in the low eighties and no rain in the forecast, what more could you want from a Florida vacation.

From the 16th floor balcony we were afforded spectacular views throughout the day. From brilliant sunrises to shaded afternoons, we were treated to ocean views, beach activities, boats and ships upon the sea, powered paragliders floating down the beach, pelican patrols, all sorts of seabirds diving onto the beach and ocean, and of course a couple of miles of shimmering beachfront on the Atlantic ocean. We only managed one trip to the beach, but it was in late afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed letting the little guys get their feet wet. Weston actually fell down in the surf two or three times and was totally soaked. The smiles on their faces made the trip worthwhile.

Throw in three visits to nearby restaurants and we had a wonderful time with some special little guys.
We had a few disagreements and they had a few ownership issues, but we mostly just caught up on loving something that is very special to us. It is always sad to leave those you love, but it's like getting your tank filled up until the next visit. Grandkids are God's special gift to Grandparents.
And oh yeah, we enjoyed seeing John and Angela too.
